This is an ongoing project started on July 17, 2018. I take a picture of a sunset from where I am around sunset time and archive the gradient colors from it. The colors are accumulated from the time of light.

The first 74 days’ gradient colors from ‘Everyday Sunset Gradient’ were developed and printed in two books called < Ilmolji, sunset gradient paper>.
일몰 그라디언트는 2018년 < 일몰지 > 라는 독립출판물로 만들어져 서울의 유어마인드와 서귀포의 책방무사에 입고되었다.

Irritation Transference

I composed the music called ‘Irritation Transference’ and shared its graphic score with 3 performers who would perform the music. It consists of the interpretation of each performer and repeats as a troll.
2018년 서서울예술교육센터 예술놀이 LAB 커뮤니티 프로그램에 참여, 한정된 공간에서 소리를 낼 수 있는 다양한 재료를 찾고 그 재료들을 이용하는 음악을 작곡하였다. 시각 악보를 통해 연주자들에게 공유되었을 때 각 연주자의 해석에 따라 또다른 음악이 발생된다.

This project was started with the question of whether data could be shared locally in art & design. The focus of this project is not just on using data as a dynamic visual variable in a flexible identity design, but also as an approach to auditory identity design through data sonification.

Columbo’s Chili is one of my favorite recipes. I was requested to make the very Chili that Columbo would have eaten in the book. That is the background where this dish was born.

콜롬보 칠리는 추리소설 속 콜롬보 형사가 즐겨 먹던 ‘칠리’에서 가져왔다. 어느 날, 추리소설을 사랑하고 형사 콜롬보 캐릭터를 좋아하는 친구에게서 어렸을 적부터 너무나 궁금했던 콜롬보 형사의 칠리를 만들어달라는 부탁을 받았다. 콜롬보 칠리 콘 카르네는 이렇게 시작된 요리이다.

I have a friend who wants and is going to open a detective agency. “So it goes” was named after one of quotes by Kurt Vonnegut.
탐정이 꿈인 친구가 있다. “So it goes”는 커트 보네거트의 『제5 도살장』에 나오는 구절을 인용하였다.

The Story of Mr.Sommer

Why on earth did Mr. Sommer start walking? This curiosity led me to the idea of time loop and I got to reinterpret the original story.
좀머씨는 왜 걷게 되었을까. 이에 대한 호기심은 타임루프라는 상상으로 이어졌고 원작과는 다른 소년과 좀머씨 간의 관계를 만들어냈다. 무한으로 반복하는 시간 속에서 인과를 바꿔보려 노력한다.

Rock Underground

There are tons of rock bands out there. Where did they start their music? I categorized top 100 British rock bands based on their regions and visualized with rock underground lines. British rock bands and artists rank were from here.
영국 락밴드 랭크에 오른 100 개의 밴드와 그들이 음악을 시작했던 지역 정보를 리서치하여 분류하였다. 근접한 지역 정보를 그룹화하고 이를 언더그라운드 맵으로 시각화한 작업이다.
